It's the issue that comes with thinking of businesses just as numbers, revenues, etc... We tend to forget (or ignore) that there are real people behind, real life investments, and the more general "hopes and dreams". I read somewhere this days (I would quote it but don't remember where I got it from) that we wouldn't be allowed to sell houses we don't own or companies we don't own. Why are we allowed to sell stocks we don't own? But then again, there is still so much I don't understand...
