I like that epistemology, Kant , Hume and many in semiotics have nuanced and bettered the concept...I think it goes all the way back to Plato and his Idealism. I always think that the Greeks (especially pre-socratic...but in general classic philosophers) had it all figured it out, they were just missing prior knowledge to further their ideas
