I have, in all honestly, considered not paying to read and getting out of the program so that all of my writing is free. But, after one of them earned me enough for a small weekend out, it became difficult to follow through. But might still do it and ask people who are interested, to join my paid newsletter if they'd like to support my writing. I am not sure of anything rn.

A point where I have to agree wholehertedly is that the average quality of writing on the platform is not that great. In fact, for good writing I tend to read aeon.co

Still, I have found some people worth reading here, making it difficult to stop the pay-to-read cycle. Also... I feel like while still with a lot of problems, I have benefitted from Medium's partner program, so I'm kinda grateful. It's all a bit confusing right now.
